New VS Old Powder Measure
Quote from Reloader on November 21, 2013, 2:20 pmWhat is the big advantage of the revised Powder measure spring assembly? Will it improve the performance of the measure or is it just a double safety so you don't drop powder when no case is on the machine? This is the last upgrade for my RL550B. My powder measure works fine and drops powder very well.
On a side note I was reading in Brian Enos' forum and he suggests that you drop powder 4 times into a small tray of sort and measure 4 times worth and divide by 4. This gives you a better average of what your machine does. If you are making rounds that take 5 grains your figure would be 20 grains on the scale. The ends up being better QC on your part.

Quote from Reloader on November 21, 2013, 2:33 pmThis design change makes it virtually impossible to double-charge a case on an auto-indexing machine, such as the SDB or XL650. On the RL550B series, a manually indexed machine, it is less useful.
