1050 Fail Safe Rod on 650

Can you use the 1050 fail safe rod on the 650 with out any issues?

Based on looking at the two manuals for the reloaders; I would guess not.
The 650 fail safe has an bend about midway. The 1050 appears to be straight. I know the old fail safe rod that goes with the early powder measures do not work (well) with the new powder measures.

I suppose for the short run you could use a 1050 rod (checking on each down stroke that the powder lock link assembly returned the powder bar, but I would not use it for a long term solution. Just call Dillon explain the 650 is lost/bent. They will ship a new one.

Just the ease of disconnecting the rod with the 1050 using a clip at the powder measure.

The geometry of the rods are completely different. They will not interchange.

So I ordered the 1050 rod and bent it to make the geometry correct, so it would interchange to take advantage of using the clip to quickly disconnect.

Why don't you do this with the 650 rod or make it where it utilizes a clip instead of the stupid bend?

wanted to clarify my statement about...when i say stupid bend I mean the bend at the tip to lock it in.

I've seen a YouTube video where a guy was using one without modifying it
