1050 Primer Problem

The primer punch on my Super 1050 is not smooth acting. When priming, the punch snaps down making a loud popping noise. I have cleaned and lubed the primer punch, the tappet, the cam and the pivot hole in the cam that the tappet and primer punch ride on. I have also changed the spring on the primer punch. Has anyone seen this problem before?

First, remove the primer slide and see if the popping continues. This will help narrow the search pattern. Be sure the rocker is installed correctly, as the top profile of the rocker is not symmetrical.
