1200 trimmer

Yes thats what you need to do. I noticed the same issue when I first started doing .223's. Previously I was doing only 30-06 and had lots of adjustment in the trimming process. But it seems that the .223 die is a bit long. I cranked mine down all the way to the shell plate. In fact it now probably hits it every time, but that gave me enough adjustment for the trimmer operation. I try to keep my cases .003" under max COL.
