22 TCM on 550B
Quote from Reloader on April 25, 2014, 12:42 amI just got myself a RIA 2011 in 22TCM (it also has a 9mm barrel, spring and extractor, to swap it out for dual use).
I have a 550B press, and reload all of my pistol ammo. Among other's I have dies and conversion kits for .380 ACP, 9mm, 38 Super, 40 S&W and 45 ACP.
I can get either Hornady or Lee 3-die sets for the 22TCM, but don't know what powder funnel I'd need. Is it just an "A"/22 cal funnel, or should I be looking at something else.
I need to order a few misc. parts, and wanted to include the powder funnel in my order, so any help would be appreciated.

Quote from Reloader on April 25, 2014, 1:05 amFYI - While many folks say the 22 TCM is a "necked down 9mm" it's actually a bottlenecked cartridge, based on the .223 Remington case, shortened so that the shoulder is at approximately the same length as the case mouth of a 9x19mm cartridge. The maximum overall loaded length is the same as a .45 ACP.
I've heard it's supposed to be similar in case capacity, general shape, and performance to the 5.7x28 FN.http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b4/22tcm_prm.jpg/220px-22tcm_prm.jpg

Quote from Reloader on May 11, 2014, 10:24 pmI too am a 22 TCM addict. I have been loading 22 TCM on a single stage RCBS, I find load development much easier in single stage mode.
This cartridge is a bit fussy to load. Very difficult, for me, to get shoulder set back and neck size right. I'm going to try a Lee collet crimp to avoid "shoulder bump" .
I would really like to pick up the pace with my 550B. I'm going to try the powder funnel I use with .223, I hope it works. I'll report back.

Quote from Reloader on February 15, 2015, 6:21 pmSince I have not seen and further posts from you regarding the 22 TCM powder funnel, I will assume you are not aware that Dillon has added a powder funnel for the 22 TCM cartridge. The Stock number is "62216". I just found it yesterday and ordered one for myself. The one for the "223" is just a bit short and does not fully open the powder bar. I "jury-rigged" mine to work but do not trust it fully. I hope this fixes the problem.
