223

When i am reloading .223 (with my RL 550B) my shell plate keeps getting loose. I put extra torque to the set screw but every 25 to 30 cycles of the handle I have to readjust the shell plate.I have kept an eye on the main bolt and it is not moving or coming loose, This only happens when reloading .223?
Thank You
Chris

Due to the direction of rotation the shellplate bolt should tighten, not loosen, if the brass-tipped set screw is loose. Remove the set screw and examine it, be sure the brass end isn't smeared too badly. Also, be sure the shellplate bolt isn't galling the index sprocket. It helps to put a light coat of grease where they contact each other.

Finally, be sure you are using a #3 shellplate, #3 locator buttons, and that the number is visible on the top of the shellplate.
