223 Decapping

Just started reloading and have the resizing die set, but I need to know how deep to set the depriming pin.

I am loading Lake City 5.56.

If you have Dillon 223 dies, they are pre-set. The jam nut is set up against the bottom of the spring clip, and threaded down until it firmly contacts the top of the die body.

For other brands of dies, at least 5/16" to 3/8" protrusion beyond the bottom of the die is typical. Just make sure the decap pin retainer does not contact the inside of the empty case.
