.223 rem bullets falling down when reaching bullet seating station
Quote from Reloader on November 12, 2019, 6:14 pmI use to reload .223 rem with 55gr FMJBT bullet from Hornady. I have an automatic bullet feeder at station 4 and a bullet seater at station 5. All the reloading operations are correct but the bullet that has been put on the case in station 4 (by the bullet feeder) falls down just when it reaches station 5 (bullet seater). So I have to put it manually on the case before seating it. Any solutions ?

Quote from Reloader on November 13, 2019, 3:29 pmYou need to use a boat-tailed bullet with the Mr Bulletfeeder for 223. Flat-based and round bottom bullets, like the Remington 55 grain FMJ, will fall off.
Do check to make sure the shellplate bolt is tight enough. Push down on the edge of the shellplate at station 4. If it feels springy, then the shellplate bolt needs to be set a bit tighter. This reduces the snap as the detent ball clicks into the detent hole in the underside of the shellplate. Make sure you aren't slapping the handle as you lift it up.

It has resolved the problem. I have thigthen the shellplate bolt screw and have also add some pink grease beween the shellplate and the platform. The movement of the shellplate is now smoothier and the bullets stay in place after having been put on the cases.
