223 to 300 blackout

I'm going to buy a xl650 soon setup for 223..I also want to load 300 Blackout, I was wondering since they are the same case just shorter and necked up if I can just buy a couple of parts for the conversion and save some money..I was thinking maybe like the different case feeder parts since the shell plate should be the same?

You need the AK powder funnel (13015) and a small pistol case feed plate with a couple of spacer washers underneath it for the case feeder.

Thanks for the help..

The case feed adapter and body bushing will be the same for 223 and 300 blackout?

I'm running 300 and 223 on my 650.  The 223 case feed adapter (white) will work but the cases can get hung up once in a while. The opening in the adapter is too tall for 300 BLK and 2 cases try to come thru at once.  I got an extra 9mm adapter (green) and cut in a window that just clears the brass.  Problem solved.  🙂

Jimdacey, thanks for the help..Much appreciated!

Looking to load 300 Blackout in the near future. This forum paints the picture of a Frankenstein, hodge-podge mixture of plates and powder fillers. Why hasn't Dillon figured this out and offered up a packaged set-up for our reloaders?

We do offer a conversion kit for 300 BLK. However, most potential 300 BLK users also already load for 223/5.56mm. Most parts interchange. Try a 22 Hornet case feed adapter #15186.

Couldn't you just use all the .223 parts except the .30 caliber (type B) powder funnel, and just turn the Case Insert Slide Cam around to the pistol side? That way it doesn't drop the case untill the shellplate is higher and thus keeping from feeding multiple cases?

Okay, so when I call to see if I can straighten out the .300 Blackout powder funnel issue, the nice lady says, "Well, according the the parts list for the .300Blackout on page 45 of the XL650 manual, you should use xxxxx funnel." Well, I am looking at page 45 of my XL650 manual and I cannot find any mention of .300 Blackout. Reading the forums you see that you should use the M-1 or AK funnel. Well, in the conversion kit list, the M-1 funnel part number (even though it says funnel "C") is the same part number as the 30-30, 308, 338. Obviously there is some confusion. If it's no secret, could you just either update your website/manuals to show the .300 blackout and which funnel to use if you want to expand the neck or not? I see the last update to the manual was 2007. I'm guessing there have been a few changes since then. Come on, use that ridiculous money we spend on conversion kits to update the manual. Thank you.
