.223 trimmer die no threads on top or the bottom to lock
Quote from Reloader on February 26, 2013, 6:10 pmhello All, I have researched the forums and was not able to find the answer to this problem.
I have a Dillon RT-1200 trimmer and went to set it up on a LNL Red press - Sorry waiting for a S 1050 and there is not enough room for the nut on the bottom of the die between the shell plate and the bottom of the tool head. There is maybe a thread on the top of the die but the nut would cover a lot of the trim dies port and seem to impead the flow of shavings.
I have thought about rocksetting the .223 trim die into place in the LNL die or I would have to take off 10-15% of a die nut so it would fit on the bottom.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Rod

That's what I did waiting for a response. I had to take off about 30% of the lock ring to clear. Its working now by locking the low pro die nut onto the bottom of the die.
the only real issue now is that I can not unlock the LNL bushing as the nut is on the bottom. I am going to mark the die and bushing with indicator marks to make the next I have to set up faster.
