223or 556 barrel??

I bought a barrel 30yrs ago for a DIY ar15 and I do not know if its a 556 or 223 rated.

Is there a Gage made to check?

I just want to know if I can use 556 ammo in it.

Very simple. How is the barrel marked, .223 Remington or 5.56mm? This will tell you.

very simple if it had marking.

No markings at all on it.
