30.06 reloads

Just ordered my first Reloader, the 550B.  Gonna load .45acp, but my question is do any of you have expereince using a 550B to reload 30.06?  If so, any surprises I need to be looking for?

Thanks

Nothing special, 30-06 is a rather easy rifle cartridge to load. Cases must be lubed before resizing, and cases require trimming every 2-3 firings. If you are loading for a Garand, then you need to stick with bullets no heavier than 175 grains, and use a medium burning rate powder such as I-4895, I-4064. Use of slow burning powders in a Garand will cause the operating rod to bend.

I load 30.06, 222 mag, 444 marlin, 338 win. All load good if the dies are set right, And you need to lube the case the dillon spray lube works real  good .

I own a Winchester in caliber .30-06 and in the past I have only fired factory ammo at the range. I have been invited to go deer hunting this coming fall and I need to make up some less expensive practice rounds and spend some additional time getting used to the rifle. I obtained a quantity of used .30-06 cases when I purchased a RL450 press and I recently purchased a set of dies for my reloader. I examined the Dillon catalog literature for the 1200B Rapid Trim case trimmer {Feb. 2010 Blue Press, top of page 19} but I need some more information. Does the motor stay on the entire time that it is being used to trim cases or is there some sort of limit switch that turns the trimmer motor on when the case enters the sizing die and then turns it back off when the sizing step is completed? How loud is the Rapid Trim 1200B's electric motor? Is there an engineering data sheet available for the RT 1220B? Does any other Dillon customer that reads these pages own an RT 1200B and do you have some sort of testimonial to give about the product?
