.30 Carbine
Quote from Reloader on March 13, 2011, 12:31 amI've read two postings in this forum that Dillon does not have a .30 Carb trim die for the RT 1200 Trimmer, as it has problems removing the brass shavings.
I was sold (by Dillon) a .30 Trim Die made by C-H Tool & Die/4-D Custom Die Co.
The previous posts have made it seem like the RT 1200 will not work for .30 Carb. I have yet to set up my Trimmer, so I don't know if the C-H trim die through Dillon actually works in the RT1200.
Anyone else have this trim die and use it on the RT1200? Does it work?
Thanks for any response.

Quote from Reloader on March 17, 2011, 5:55 pmThe CH die will work-however, the exhaust port in the die is completely submerged in the toolhead. You would have to modify a singlestage loader by milling or grinding down the frame where the die threads in until the port is exposed.

Quote from Reloader on March 18, 2011, 2:46 amWell, I sure wish someone at dillon had told me that when I phoned-in my order for the trim die. I was not told that it wouldn't work on a 550 (or any other dillon progressive).
I don't own a single stage press and am not likely to get one. Can I return the unused and unusable trim die?
