Quote from Reloader on January 18, 2013, 6:30 pmIt looks like they just made a conversion kit for .300 AAC called, .300 blackout/whisper. That should do it for you. And Dies of course. Do you plan on cutting down .556 Brass or buying .300 AAC (blackout brass). If you plan on cutting down .556 I have some tips and some useful and relatively inexpensive tools you may want to look into. I've been making .300 blackout subsonic and supersonic loads for about a year and a half now. All from cut down .556 brass. I'm super happy with the results. Let me know if you would like any advice.

Quote from Reloader on January 21, 2013, 8:49 pmI would like the information and the powder drop funnel number if someone would be willing to give it up. Paramnce@wamego.net Any help would be appreciated. I have a case trimmer and was told I cannot use it to make .300 Blackout cases. I have sent a technical request to Dillon because I have seen it done and am unsure why I cannot use my trimmer to do so. I know the case is about as tall as the toolhead and someone told me I would need a special trimmer die and a special tool head.
Thoughts on the funnel number? and thoughts on the trimmer deal> I am not modifying my machine to do this that is for sure. I would rather use a single stage if that is the issue.

I had to call Dillon for the .300 BLK conversion components. The person who helped me said they had the part numbers on "their board" but I don't think they have made it into a catalog or onto the web site. It was a long wait, but as I understand phone in orders are actually processed faster than online orders.
As for trimming .300 BLK with the dillon trimmer. CH4D makes dies specially for the dillon trimmer and has a die for either dillon trimmer motor.

They have a phone number in their contact information and it might be worth a call to be sure you are getting the correct die.
I personally have not used my dillon machine to do any .300 blk brass yet. But I plan to.
I have been using a 2" circular table top chop saw I purchased from harbor freight
to cut down .556 brass, I then reform it in my single stage press and trim it to size with an old crow gun works WFT. I then have to run it though a swage, because it is LC mil brass. After that the brass is ready to go. So far I have only worked up sub sonic loads, but the reformed brass is performing well. Let me know if you are interest the loads I have worked up, let me know and I can give you my log.

Quote from Reloader on January 29, 2013, 4:42 pmThe Dillon RT1200B electric case trimmer is engineered to trim .010-.015" of excess brass from a fully formed case. The motor and bearings will not hold up under the stress of cutting off approximately .500" of brass, as well as reforming a case. Doing so voids the warranty. The CH4D die is fine for trimming formed 300 BLK cases, not for converting 223 brass into 300BLK.

Quote from Reloader on February 20, 2013, 6:29 pmWell I built a Jig and am taking the cases down on a lathe, a craftsman 101 lathe and should not have much to trim.
I just need to get the die for the trimmer and figure out which part number to use for the funnel and so far have not gotten through to Sales. I know you guys are busy, can I get that part number from you on both parts. I load .223 right now on my 650..
