.38 Short Colt

Hello,

I want to start loading .38 Short Colt on my 650 and I already own the calibre conversions for 9mm, .22 Hornet, .223 Rem & .308 Win.

What would be the easiest/cheapest way so set the press up for .38 Short Colt? I'm guessing I also need an extra 9mm Resizer/De-Primer and .357Mag/.38Spcl Seater and Crimper.

I'm loading .38 "mid" Colts (0.900" case length) on my XL-650 using a Dillon .38/.357 sizing die, a Mr. Bulletfeeder 9mm Powder expander, a Dillon 9mm seating die, and a Dillon 9mm crimp die.

I found that the Dillon .38/.357 seating and crimp dies couldn't be adjusted far enough "down" to deal with the short cases - and .38 Short Colts are even shorter...

You've already got the 9mm seating & crimp dies, you will need a .38/.357 shell plate, Station 1 locator, locator buttons, and case feed adapter parts. Best bet (IMHO) is to buy the .38/.357 conversion kit and just the .38//357 sizing die.

Sorry old thread. But can you use a 38/357 powder funnel?

Use the 9mm (F) powder funnel, and the 40 S&W (purple) case feed adapter for 38 SC. Use a 38/357 size die, and 38 Super seat and crimp dies.
