38 spl load
Quote from Reloader on September 21, 2013, 5:58 pmHas anyone had any experience using a load of 6.7 grains of HS6 with a 158 grain LSWC in a 38 special case, with a standard small pistol load ? This load is listed in one of the "name" brand reloading manuals, however most of the other manuals list a top load of 6.3 grains??? Any load would be really appreciated!! Thanks.

Quote from Reloader on October 2, 2013, 1:13 pmI load the HS6 in 357 magnum loads with 8.3 grains to project a 158 grain bullet. HS6 is simply a slower burning powder but it will still work in a 38 special case as long as you use less powder. 6.3 might be too much for a 38 special case, so I'd just start at 4 grains shoot them and keep bumping it up until you see the primer start to deflect (the space between the primer and case will be smoothed over).
