.380 cases jamming the case feeder

My XL650 has been a fantastic device. I have loaded .40, 9mm, and .45ACP without any issues. However, I recently started to load .380 and have had a maddening problem with cases dropping into the case feeder funnel, turning sideways and blocking the normal flow. It's odd, as I have not experienced this with other calibers. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how was it corrected? Thanks.........

Ron

What is the shape of the clear plastic funnel, rectangular or round? If rectangular, then a funnel reducer is needed. If round, then the case feeder is swaying while the machine is being operated.

The clear plastic funnel is round where it meets the tube. The cases pass through the hole in hopper one at a time, but occasionally, one will turn sideways and immediately block any further filling of tube. The blockage is in the upper 1/3 of the funnel.

R.B.:

How old is your casefeeder?  Is the clear funnel assembly round or rectangular at the top where the cases enter?  If it is rectangular, call us for a new funnel assembly, #22173.  Regardless of whether it is currently round or rectangular, you will need an insert funnel, #16617 to put in the top of the round funnel for the 380/9mm cases to keep them straight.  Call us for either the 16617 by itself or with the new clear funnel assembly 22173.
