.40 S&W shellplate sticking

Hello fellow re-loaders,

Still kind of new to re-loading but learning every day and really enjoying my new 550B. One issue that I'm having is with my shell plate sticking every once in while, around the third station? If I relieve a little pressure on the roller handle, I can then most times proceed and able to turn the shell plate. I've taken a really close look and can't seem to see where anything underneath is hitting the plate? I've even lossened the brass screw and lossened the bolt that holds down the plate, readjusted and again, sometimes it still seems like it's hitting something and have to turn it really hard to get it to go to the next position?

Any ideas friends? Thanks for all the help, this forum is terrific for people like me that are still new to all this. It's become a great hobby and boy can you spend some bucks on all the accessories. But my loads now are tight on the range, I never would have though that hand loading would be that much more consistent than factory - Awesome! Great job Dillon Precision!

Thanks fellas, have great weekend.

Cheers from the Colorado Rockies,

Leo

Is it possible there is a live primer in the cup on the primer slide when this occurs? If so, then the shellplate is probably catching on the top of the primer as you attempt to index the shellplate. Pulling the handle down slightly would lift the shellplate up, allowing it to clear the top of the primer.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll check that out and get back to you Dillon!

If so, would I need to maybe adjust the set screw of the primer holder and lower it a little. That would set the primer a tad lower but then would that affect the priming part of the action into the case when you push forward on the handle?

Will check on this.

Thanks, have a good weekend,

Leo
