45 ACP shellplate

Will a 44 magnum shell plate work for the 45 ACP?

On a Dillon 550 or 650, 44 Mag is a Shell plate #4, whereas 45 ACP is a #1.

No !

In theory it should, but I bought one thinking that it would and it didn't ! The 44 shellplate is about 0.015" too big and the case pulls through if there is any resistance on the down stroke.
