.45 acp sizing problem
Quote from Reloader on November 1, 2010, 11:12 pmWhen loading .45 acp I'm having issues with sizing. When I resize and deprime, prime, and bell and add powder the case easily fits into the Dillon .45 acp bullet gauge.
However, once the bullet is seated and crimped the round only fits about 3/4th of the way before jamming (about 1/4 inch from the base).
To get it to gauge I take out the deprimer and run the loaded back through the sizing die. Then it fits the gauge perfectly.
Bullets can be either round nose lead or copper ball. The OAL is about 1.25" which works very well in my pistol.
What am I screwing up so that I am unable to get a properly sized round?

Thanks for your great advice.
