.45 small primer pocket
Quote from Reloader on January 12, 2017, 4:30 amWhat happens if you over look one before running it though the machine? This is on a .45 ACP Super 1050.

Quote from Reloader on January 24, 2017, 6:22 amYep, the swage rod if adjusted correctly will prevent you from fully cycling on the down stroke - you'll feel this tension right before the bottom of the stroke - raise up enough to clear the die and pull out the offending case.
There is also a 3rd party SPP detector that goes in place of the swage rod, if you are not using any mil brass - it sounds a buzzer to let you know there is a SPP case.
Further, if automating, the Mark 7 has a similar setup with a sensor that stops the motor and/or offers an option to kick out the brass and keep going.

Quote from Reloader on March 2, 2017, 1:05 amI thought I had the swage punch set high enough, and that I only had large primer cases, but I got a small primer case left at the range by another shooter.
It went bang... but the machine prevented any injury or damage.
Swage punch is now adjusted higher, and it will now give a stronger, springy feeling resistance at the bottom of the stroke with a small primer pocket, and I'm careful of what I pick up.
Good practice generally to wear eye protection...
