550B case feeder causing primer feeder to fail.

Hello,
I Have an RL550b I bought in the early 90's. This Christmas I received a case feeder for the unit. The case feeder installed quickly and as a unit seems to function fine. The I issue I am having is one of a clearance between the primer feed system, and the new case feed assembly.

First off since I have an older unit the frame behind the primer tube is rounded, not squared off like the newer units ( wish I could attach a picture here). This is really where the problem starts. Now when one utilizes the operator handle the primer feeder rod strikes the case feed adapter, causing the mechanisms to hang to almost the bottom the the stroke then slam into place when the case feeder assembly finally clears.

So upon reading the disclaimer on the case feeder advert that is posted on the web sight I assumed I was in the category for "send back and fix". I phoned your customer service and they quickly informed me I simply needed a new plate that affixes to the top on the piston, and promptly sent it to me. (always great service on 550b items)

I received this plate and installed it, and as it did help some, there is still an issue when the primer feeder body (part containing the primer itself) is moving inward toward the primer feed hole it strikes the used primer catch on the bottom of the case feeder mechanism. The primer feeder then hangs in this spot until the catch clears, at this point the operating rod is not providing any tension and the primer feeder slams home.

Now, to be fair the machine does operate in this condition, but I have to got to think that this is not how it is intended, as the primer feeder often slams home hard enough to dishevel the primer in the holder.

Any help or tips any one can toss my way would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for reading.

Mark, I'm a newbe here but I've read countless stories of guy contacting Dillon and either getting upgraded parts sent to them or they've shipped the unit back to Dillon and only had to pay one way shipping to have the unit upgraded. That's why I'm spending the money on a new Dillon instead of another brand.
