550B Locked Up
Quote from Reloader on May 28, 2013, 4:01 pmIve run a couple of hunfred rounds through my new 550B and been very happy with the performance. However yesterday, My press locked mid way through the upstroke. I can stiil press down on the handle and the press will move the shell plate up but it will not drop back down. It was sticking a little the last 10-15 rounds or so but a gentle nudge and it would complete the cycle. Now Im afraid it will break something if I try to force the handle up, to lower the shell plate, Any suggestions on what I should check would be appreciated.
Thanks

Quote from Reloader on May 28, 2013, 5:54 pmWhat caliber are you loading? I suspect the case is dragging at station 2, when the case is being pulled off of the powder funnel. With new handgun brass this is not uncommon. Once it has been fired, it begins to accumulate a buildup of carbon on the interior which acts as a lubricant.
