550B Powder Leak
Quote from Reloader on April 1, 2011, 1:52 pmI am a new to Dillion. The only caliber I have tried reloading so far is my 7mm-08. I am using the large powder bar and Win 748 powder. A lot of the time powder falls out of the powder funnel after the brass is out. This is creating inconsitent loads for me. Any tips would be appreciated.

Also, slow down handle travel to give the powder enough time to all fall into the case. It should take at least one full second to move the powder bar over. Wipe off the measure with an anti-static dryer sheet, along with the powder die and funnel. Finally, clean the interior of the powder funnel with a swab and alcohol to clean out any built-up case lube.

Quote from Reloader on October 7, 2015, 9:38 pmI found that running a spring from where the curved part of the powder rod goes through the two levers on the hopper and secured it to the desk. This pulls the levers down at the same time as the shell plate lowers. No more powder raining all over the place and the loads are now more consistent. The spring only needs to have light tension until the shell place is half way down. I bought a cheap spring at the hardware store. I hope this helps.
