650 Primer Catcher
Quote from Reloader on September 20, 2012, 7:03 pmHey guys! Just got my Dillon 650 put together. Loaded up some rounds today and was having an issue with the "ski jump" that catches and holds the new unused primers that arent loaded into a shell. Its a pain to take them out one by one and place onto a primer holder so they can be reused. The "tape" method that I saw on some forums is not really working. Have any of yall tried any other method to contain the unused primers? maybe cut the end off the blue slide and attach a small jar or something?

Quote from Reloader on September 25, 2012, 6:27 pmI wrap a piece of masking tape around both sides and the end of the ski jump, leaving it sticking up over the top of the ramp a half inch. This works very well. To remove the primers remove the tape first.

Quote from Reloader on January 21, 2013, 10:57 pmI ended up using Clear PVC Tubing. I cut about one inch off of some scrap tubing I had laying around the house. I made two parallel cut to the top and then scored the tube to fold down the end of the tubing to create a damn.

Quote from Reloader on May 10, 2016, 8:52 pmI just use a small binder clip to keep the primers from using that ramp as a ski-jump. It holds them back, then I can take them off when I finish a primer magazine.

Quote from Reloader on May 26, 2016, 1:18 pmNot "free" at $25, but the ski ramp replacement from www.dillonupgrades.com (3rd item down the page) has proven to be a "clean," handy way to solve the problem. The bonus is the skipped primers are all in the little plastic bottle, so no fishing out of primers from the ramp and easy no-spill transport to the bench for recycling.
