9mm brass sticks to powder funnel
Quote from Reloader on April 27, 2020, 4:19 pmAfter dispensing the dropped powder, the powder funnel seems to stick to the powder funnel, requiring quite a bit of force to remove it during the upstroke. This is both tiresome and slow due to the risk of spilling powder.
I have read quite a bit on this problem and the issue persist regardless of:
1. Using cleaned or sooty brass (no difference at all)
2. Heavy or light neck belling/flaring.
3. Original finish or dremel polished powder funnel (its really smooth now).
4. With or without case lube.My second SDB is set up for .38 and experience approx 10% of the perceived "stickiness".
Is there Anything else that can be done apart from using different dies (i.e. changing to xl750)?

Quote from Reloader on October 22, 2020, 3:22 pmI just replaced all the 9mm dies in my SDB as part of my process to refresh the setup. I had the same issue with the old set and it continues with the new funnel. I also only flare very lightly and just enough to seat the bullet. I guess I will try the flitz and dremel polish next. Originally, I thought powder was leaking but then after watching closing it was coming out of the case when a case was sticking, maybe 10% of the time.

Quote from Reloader on July 17, 2021, 4:23 pmThe only time I had this difficulty was when I had over cleaned the brass. I only dry vibrate for 1.5 hours. To help I also started using a bit of "one shot" on brass before I begin.
As you have tried sooty brass and lube I am out of other suggestions.
