9mm problems
Quote from Reloader on January 20, 2014, 8:09 amStarted reloading 115gr TMJRN 9mm. After getting everything set loaded 10 rds. 6 out of 10 OAL was ok at 1.153-1.154. The other 4 measured 1.158-1.160. Also noted not all cases were belling the same as some almost had no bell. Reset OAL and adjusted bell. Again with similar results. Third time around was the same. Any suggestions on why set dimensions keep changing? Using 650 with Dillon dies.

Quote from Reloader on January 20, 2014, 4:30 pmThe variation in OAL you are seeing is tiny, and inconsequential. That said, if you set up and adjust your dies with a fired case in station 1, this ensures the same amount of upward pressure on the toolhead as you will have when actually reloading.
Be sure to flare cases at least .010" larger than sized, unflared cases.
Most OAL variation is due to variations from one bullet to the next. In 9mm, you might see as much as .025" spread, due to ogive variations.
