accu-crimp - what is

The description on Dillion dies is accu-crimp for revolvers and taper crimp for auto. What is a accu-crimp? new term for me.

The accu-crimp is a two-stage crimp die. It starts with a taper crimp, which is sufficient for lighter loads. If a firmer crimp is needed, adjust the die down further. This applies a roll crimp on top of the taper crimp, giving a firm grip on the projectile.

My new custom build “cowboy action shoot” rifle calls for roll crimp for the 45LC round, they recommend Lee Factory roll crimp. How does this differ from you crimp??

I have had the Same question. I am loading .44 SPL as well as .44 Magnum (S&W Model 69), using a Hornady 200 gr bullet with cannelure. My question is do Dillon dies include "accu-crimp" in the carbide .44 set. Since I have been reloading this ammunition I have crimped the round until it freely goes into the Wilson case gauge and fall out when the gauge is inverted. I have had no problems yet but I do not want problems in the future. The next question is do you have information/ instructions in using the "accu-crimp", I can find no reference to it in the instructions included with the die set.
