Adding a 2nd RL550B.
Quote from Reloader on March 30, 2016, 4:24 amHello all. I shoot 8 different calibers, 4 small primer and 4 large primer. I do have quick changes for each one. I have a chucker supreme (for case prep) and a 550 on the bench now. I am thinking about adding a 2nd RL550 so I won't be changing primer sizes back and forth.
Do you all think it is worth the expense?

Quote from Reloader on March 31, 2016, 2:02 amI purchased a second 550. I use one for Rifle and one for Pistol. I have stopped priming or de priming on the 550's all together. I de prime on a single stage press and then clean my brass using a wet tumbler and then prime with a RCBS hand primer. I used to have problems with priming sometimes. I would get a few in sideways and at least one case that would not prime per 100 and get powder all over the press. Now my press stays clean which keeps it turning smoothly (powder in there was always a real pain in the butt).
I purchased the Dillon Case trimmer and I trim my 223 brass on the Rifle 550, so its just easier to have a separate one for pistol. They really are not that expensive, Its the dies that really add up the cost.
another reason I keep thinking about the case feeder and it only works on pistol brass on the 550, so far I have not purchased one yet but I keep thinking about it, I have not decided (I watch video's on YouTube and many say the case feeder is very noisy and that gives my pause).
Just what I do, your millage may vary.

Quote from Reloader on November 23, 2016, 7:13 amRunning two 550's one for large primers, one for small primers. If there is funds available it is the only way to go. Wife also uses the 550's. So we work together.
Reloading: 223,300 BLK,308,9mm,38,357,40s/w,10mm,45ACP,44mag, on the Dillons.
RCBS Rock Chucker for heavy center fire rifles.

Quote from Reloader on November 26, 2016, 11:01 pmI agree...another machine is so much more convenient. I run 2 RL550's, a SDB and a Redding Turret for the 25-20WFC and 32-20WCF as well as others like the 30 & 357 Herretts.
Good luck with your choice!
