Belted cartridges
Quote from Reloader on April 1, 2010, 12:31 pmI'm wondering if anybody loads belted cartridges like 7mm Remington Mag with the 650. These belted cartridges are very popular with hunters but I don't see much about them in the reloader forums. Is there something inherently difficult in reloading belted brass?

Quote from Reloader on April 1, 2010, 4:39 pmI plan on loading 7mm in my press. But first I need to work up a good load. it's on my list of todo's. I too would be interested in any comments left on this topic.

Quote from Reloader on May 13, 2010, 12:48 pmI do reload them, but not on the 650.
There is nothing inherently hard about it. I generally load the belted stuff on my 550 as I don't shot the big stuff in sufficient volume to need full progressive.
You will need the big powder bar to get enough volume to get the charges you need.

Quote from Reloader on November 19, 2010, 11:27 pmi know this is little old but i load 458 winmag on my xl650. no different than any other rifle cartridge except allowing for a much longer pause on the at the full upstroke to allow all the powder to drop. pick powder bullet combos that do not include compressed charges. i used to single stage compressed loads they take much greater care and sometimes case packing with a rod on some full bore loads and powders. i pretty much stopped doing that and stick to loads i can do without compressing.
