Bottle necked case/ bullet seating problem
Quote from Reloader on March 26, 2015, 5:37 pmI have been loading a lot of .223 rem. and out of the last batch of 600 i have done i have found the mouth of the case folded over after seating the bullet on about 15. does anyone else have this issue?
I'm working on a xl650, with Dillon .223 carbide dies. its very random when this happens.
the only thing i can come up with is that when putting power in the case is not belled out, so when seating the bullet if its not perfectly straight its hitting the one side and folding it over. if this is the case any ideas how to prevent this?

Quote from Reloader on April 22, 2015, 4:18 pmsounds like your bullets are not going in straight. If angled any and when the bullet / case goes into the die....any bit of bind and it will do this. I have seen too many people putting the bullet on the case and then go up with the press with the bullet slightly off center. Try slowing down and hold bullet to case as it goes into the die...just remember to let go or iit will pinch the sh*t out of you...haha. Best of luck!
