Brass Pickup Device Sorting Bowls
Quote from Reloader on January 26, 2014, 3:37 amI saw the brass pick up device listed in Blue Press was wondering if it works very well. Looks like it would cause you to do a lot of extra sorting if you aren't careful
Has anyone used the different bowls to sort cases do they work or really not worth expense?
Thanks on both accounts

Quote from Reloader on January 26, 2014, 12:38 pmMy father inlaw and I both bought the brass pick up tool, and we both really like it. It saves our backs from bending over. In opinion it was well worth the money. I use it to pick up .380, 9mm,38/357, 45acp,44mag,and 45colt. Only time I had a problem with it is I when I over load it and that's shame on me. I have not tried the sorting bowls.

Just don't try to sort more than a handfull at a time or you will not be able to spot "nested" cases. Also consider wearing hearing protection as the brass rattling around the hard plastic is quite loud. The metal plate for sorting .380 is a pita. I wish they had made another bowl like the others.

Quote from Reloader on January 31, 2014, 3:00 amThe sorting pans work great, as stated you need to watch out for nested cases and I find that when using the .380 insert you have to only put a few cases in at a time and then shake a lot to get it to work correctly. I think one could do without the .380 plate and just separate them while doing a case condition inspection. I had my doubts but now that I have them I can't imagine separating brass any other way.
