Bullet Crimp

How do i know if I have too much crimp or not enough. I loaded 1,000 rds for my .45acp , they shoot great but when I compare my loads to factory loads there is a noticible difference in the crimp.

for .45ACP, crimp diameter should measure between .469"-.471" at the case mouth.

Easiest thing to do is use a taper crimp die. Since the case headspaces on the mouth of the cartridge you want to be very careful.
