Calibre conversion

Hi there...

I have just purchased a RL550b that is set for .357

I wish to change calibre to .44 but am unsure of all of the components required.

.44 Carbide Dies
Conversion kit 20136

Large Primer dispenser ?

What else?

I'm considering the quick change kit.

So can someone point me in the right direction and advise as to all the bit I'll need to change?

Many thanks for your time and help.

regards

Add a die set 14403, and either the Quick Change 22058 or at least a toolhead 13909 and powder die 20064. THe machine came with the large primer parts. The machine was shipped with the large primer parts installed.

Hi Dillon

Many thanks for your reply.  Unfortunately for me, the press is configured for .357 and the large primer bits were misplaced and didn't come with it when I got it.

So I'll need the bits to be able to convert it back to large primers as well

On top of the necessay parts I'm also looking at the RL55b spares (20048), the mixed set of primets tubes (20056).... are these worth it?

I'm in the UK so how much would the shipping be?

Once again, thanks for your time and help.

Regards.

I just bought a conversion kit (20136) for my new (to me) Redhawk 44 Magnum. I mount my dies for each caliber in a 550 toolhead (so that once I set up the dies, I can change calibers by simply swapping the toolhead with another already setup toolhead. This saves the setup time when changing calibers. If you go that route don't forget to order the standard powder measure die (20064) for each toolhead. I use the same powder measure and just move it between toolheads. I did not need to order the dies since I got them with the gun. As Dillon said my automatic primer system included adapters for both large and small primers. You can look at the RL 550 Automatic Primer System parts diagram and look for the large versions of all of the primer parts to see what you are missing. The link for the diagram is:

good luck
