Can I shave off much changeover time by using the different priming systems ?
Quote from Reloader on June 10, 2019, 4:35 pmMy XL650 is expected to arrive set up for 9mm.
I didn't consider when I ordered it if I should add separate tooling for when I changeover to 45acp.

Would the above system shave off much of the changeover time when I want to go between calibers ????

Quote from Reloader on June 10, 2019, 5:38 pmNot much! You still need to remove the 2 screws to remove the Primer Assembly and change out with a different Primer System.
To change what you have already once you remove the Primer Assembly simply remove the bottom allen screw and change out the Primmer disk to large or small. Reinstall the primer assemble and remove the Magazine Sheild cap and change out the Primmer Magazine to large or small primers to match the Primmer Disc.

Quote from Reloader on July 13, 2019, 9:19 pmHowdy, Intervention.
I haven't yet had the time off work to do much with anything except take it upstairs to the spare bedroom where the bench will be.
Press arrived a little later than I'd hoped for and will have to wait until the next 7-day break comes up in my 12hr shift schedule later this month.
I wound up adding the case feeder.
I made the decision to go ahead and a 550C as well. Intentions being to use it for my various hunting rifle loads...using dedicated toolheads (w/o powder measures). Seems like it will be easy to swap between the cartridges for smaller runs of ammo.
I'll be able to leave the XL 650 set up for the longer runs of 9mm & 38scpl and then .45acp & .44spcl.
It's been an investment, but I feel like I will be very well set for a long, long time and able to handle all my shooting needs outside of the occasional shotgun shells needed for clays, ducks and buckshot.
Howdy, Intervention.
