Quote from Reloader on August 10, 2016, 6:38 pmI've had a Square Deal since 1989. You won't be disappointed. I've been able to load every pistol caliber I own, with minimal problems. Most problems I've come across have been operator error.
You're right, the service is the best. If you ever have to send your machine out for routine tune-up and service, you'll find that it looks almost brand new when it gets back to you.
Their "no B.S." warranty is just that, no B.S., and I've been very happy with my SDB. I've also got an XL650, but my SDB is still the one I use the most.
Happy reloading!

Quote from Reloader on August 14, 2016, 3:58 pmcongratulations. Word of caution, if others haven't already told you....take your time. It's better to do it slowly and get it right than to try to do as much as possible and then have to go back and correct the mistakes. (Believe me, I've done it all too often myself.)
I like the Speer reloading manuals, but almost any of the major manufacturers, including the powder manufacturers will provide accurate load data. Start out at the starting charge, and then build up if you find that the starting charge isn't doing what you want. Don't try to exceed the maximum charge, all too often, it's not going to make much difference in performance and might even cause damage to your firearm.
Don't reload for anyone else, either. I tell my friends, if you want reloads, you are welcome to come over and reload, but I will not load them for you. I'll show them how to set up, how to run the press, and how to load, and I'll be there with them while they're doing it, but I won't touch their loads. Also, don't "share" your loads with anyone else, because what works in your firearm might be devastating in someone else's. These aren't my warnings, they're from "The ABCs of Reloading" by Dean Grinnell.
But, again, congratulations on your new press. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.

Look on reloading as a fun activity in and of itself.
