Can the 550B Frame be tapped for 550C pins?

Can the 550B frame be tapped to accept the Threaded Link Arm Pins from the 550C? Or is the frame built in a different manner. I was just curious because the diagrams look like the frame are fairly similar, I just didn't know if there was a difference in the pin diameters.

No, you cannot. The area around the pins was beefed up a bit to accommodate the larger diameter of the threaded portion of the pin.

Thank you for your prompt awesome response! If I ever get tired of punching out the pins, I'll get the upgrade... either that or sell the 550b and get a xl650 😉
