Case feeder issuse
Quote from Reloader on April 4, 2017, 11:44 amI upgraded to a 650 from a 550 in January, along with the 650 I also purchased conversions to do 45,40 & 9mm. Everything works great with these calibers including the case feeder and the Mr. Bullet feeder. However, this week I purchased all the necessary conversions to start loading .223 REM.
1. The issues I'm have is with the .223 brass getting caught under the feeder plate as the cases feed up traveling towards the side steel plate. If the case drops into the slot in the plate rim first there is no problem, if the case drops into the slot in the plate neck first the case slips under the plate and jams. I noticed while watching the feeder rotate that the bottom of the feeder on the right side where the steel side plate attaches is 1/8"-3/16" lower than the rest of the feeder bottom. when the case rotates around it is lowered because of this section of the bottom being lowered and it allows the neck to slip under the plate. Is there a recommended fix?
2. Is there a different inside diameter down tube? The .223 cases jam in the tube every so often as if the tube is to large.
Thanks in advance

Quote from Reloader on April 4, 2017, 2:57 pmYour explanation is not to clear to me. The feeder plate you are referring to, is that the gray plate with notches inside the case feeder? If so did you change it out to the small rifle plate (21074)? Rifle case should feed around in the case feeder on their sides up to the hole at the top where they then drop down into the case feed tube. The manual shows a small, blue(20532) and large, green(20535). My 650 came with just one feed tube so I'm not sure what the difference is.

Quote from Reloader on April 4, 2017, 3:05 pmJust did a search and the large case feed tube (20535) is for the magnum conversion. So the small or regular case feed tube (20532) is what you should have.

Quote from Reloader on April 4, 2017, 3:50 pmYes, I'm using the small rifle plate. The plate sits level in the feeder with minimal space between it and the bottom of the feeder. Except for the low area on the right side where the steel side plate is. It seems like the feeder bottom in the area is bent down or warped, which is increasing the space.

Quote from Reloader on April 4, 2017, 10:19 pmWe found the cause is one bolt hole in the top of case feed bowl is off by .100" or so in location. Then when the metal plate was installed, the bowl had to be flexed to line up the hole. To test, remove the bolt that secures the right top of the metal plate to the upper right side of the bowl. Then look through the hole. If you don't see the hole in the bowl afterward, then redrill this hole to keep the top of the metal plate against the edge of the bowl. Of course, you are most welcome to send the bowl to us for this as well.
