Case feeder not working
Quote from Reloader on June 19, 2020, 3:44 amBrand new variable speed case feeder for XL 750 not working. I installed on press turned it on with nothing in it seemed to be working ok. I placed about 20 pieces of clean 9mm cases in the hopper it it fed about 5 pieces then seemed to struggle the started to emit a red light and tone and stopped. It ran for less than 1 minute now nothing. I checked the micro switch and it is operating light goes out and tone stops when the switch is manually operated. Is it possible its just a bad motor.

Quote from Reloader on July 2, 2020, 2:17 amThanks for the reply I talked Dillon Tech support and they sent me a new variable speed motor. I installed the new motor and it is working fine. I did inspect the motor assy I removed and the shaft coming out of the reduction gear was seized up. I removed roll pin on the drive shaft and the 6 phillips screws holding the gear case together after removing 2 of the gears and plugging in the motor it was spinning. I cleaned the gears, greased and reassembled the gear box and that unit seems to be working also. Something was binding up in the gear case. Thanks again for great customer service

Quote from Reloader on July 15, 2020, 10:03 amHi Dillon, Im really unhappy at the moment. My 3 year old auto case feeder went bang and caused flames inside the housing. The person I have been dealing with at Dillon has said that Dillon are not prepared to offer a replacement feeder or even replacement motor and offered me costs to purchase replacements. Is it acceptable that this item lasts only 3 years with very, very little use? Is this what all Dillon customer should accept from their case feeder? I'm Very disappointed and cannot believe the response I have received. I would be glad to hear from someone in your organisation to discuss further options. Regards.

Quote from KansasGuy1961 on June 20, 2025, 1:54 pmI have a new XL750 and case feeder that worked perfectly for the first 300ish rounds. Shut everything down, cleaned out the bowl, rest of the reloader and turned all power off. Yesterday, I turned everything on to run some test rounds using heavier bullets and the case feeder won't power on. No, red/orange light which seemed normal when it was running. It just looks like it is not getting power. I checked my power feed, power cable, all looks ok and everything else is hot but the case feeder simply won't power on. ??

Uploaded files:Quote from The Human Manual on June 20, 2025, 7:34 pmTry this: unplug the unit, detach the clear plastic funnel from the front of the bowl. detach the two wires from the microswitch and jump them together. Plug it in, turn it on, see if it runs. If it runs, then the microswitch is bad. If it doesn't run, then probably the circuit board is bad.

Quote from KansasGuy1961 on June 22, 2025, 4:46 pmThanks for the reply but since it’s new I just returned it to Scheels and swapped it out for a new one. I didn’t want to have to take apart and troubleshoot a new case feeder and then continue hand feeding cases while I try to get parts. I still love my XL750 however.
