case feeder problem
Quote from Reloader on April 9, 2015, 3:24 pmI ordered a XL650 with case feeder. I set it all up Tuesday. It worked great. That was Tuesday. Today is Thursday and I went out to reload and the case feeder will not come on at all. It is just dead. I plugged it in to a working outlet and turned it on and it did not come on. Should I send it back for repair or replace? I can have it in the mail tomorrow. Shannon

Quote from Reloader on April 9, 2015, 3:54 pmFirst, check the micro switch at the drop tube funnel. It may be stuck, preventing power to the motor. Drop a few cases down and watch to see that the switch springs back up, calling for more cases. Sometimes it gets stuck down.
This worked for me a few years ago, hope it solves your issue,
JJ

Quote from Reloader on April 13, 2015, 3:06 pmI have the exact same problem. Received my new 650 in the mail this past Saturday. Took a couple of hours setting it up. At one point I turned on the case feeder. It ran for 5 minutes until the case feed tube was almost full. then it stopped. The cases are not as high as the micro switch yet.
I removed the case feeder from the mounting post. I've made sure the cut-off switch lever is NOT the issue. Not sure why but the case feeder seems to be getting no power. The plate does not spin at all. It appears to be a dead soldier.
Called Dillon this morning. The Tech wanted me in front of the machine. I'm at work. But the Tech wants me to diagnose this issue. I order a NEW Dillon Case feeder. Why am I diagnosing problems? I thought this was the best equipment available?

Quote from Reloader on April 22, 2015, 4:12 pmDid you check to make sure that the little arm that is at the exit shoot where the clear case feed tube goes into the feeder is not caught? The clear tube will ride up and catch that little arm which will cause the symptoms you are describing.

308 brass will sometimes jam when (before) dropping base first from the feed tray.

Quote from Reloader on July 11, 2020, 9:17 amHi Armando, I just had the same thing happen to me. The case feeder went bang and caught fire. Shorted out the power to my home. Being in Australia, will Dillon help me with this issue do you think?
