Cases sticking to funnel

9mm / 45 auto sticking to powder funnel.

On thicker brass for 9mm and 45 the cases stick. The vast majority of cases stick. The only 9mm cases that don't stick are blazer and federal which are very thin. And with 45 the only cases that don't stick are Win, PMC, and Aguila (none are these are quality brass besides maybe win). Unfortunately it's nice to use thicker brass to prevent setback. A quick web search shows A LOT of people have this problem. I've noted at the expanded a are .001 thicker than other Manufacturers.

My question isn't what is the fix... Because there isn't one. I've tried everything suggested here and on other sites.

My question is why the heck is Dillon still making them .001 bigger than everyone else?! For such an expensive product this sucks. my shoulder gets sore after 20 minutes of loading. I can't stand all the banging around either.

In a previous post Dillon states most cases are .009-.011 thick. Not true 95% of all cases are .011-.014 get with it.

I have an issue with 45 auto as well and spray some Eezox on a cleaning patch and wipe it on the funnel. I just loaded 200 hundred rounds and I did it maybe 4 times. not a perfect solution, but it will help. Eezox is a dry lubricant.

Yea, that is a band-aid. I'm looking for someone to turn one down for me. More money on top of the money spent on a blue press. One things for sure, my Hornady expanders never stick in cases, or my Redding, or RCBS, or Lyman M-Dies, or Lee... am i missing anyone? NONE of them stick, except the one on my expensive Dillon press. Both funnels for that matter. Its not a fluke.

There are a lot of posts out there on this issue. Seems the consensus is this happens most to the guys that are wet tumbling. Cases may be too clean??? They say polishing the funnel helps a lot. I have carbide dies and use One Shot Case lube, it makes everything run smoother.

I'm not so sure that it is because of super clean cases. I've loaded 9mm and 45 acp with new cars, used tumbled, used not cleaned, etc and all will stick on the powder funnel.

I reinjured my shoulder due to the amount of force required to process some new Starline 9mm brass.

Check you the FAQs on the Starline Brass website.

Why don't you buy some brass from them Starline and they will help you out.

Or, maybe Dillon offers the same service for free?
