Cast bullets Glock pistols

This is my first post and I am sure this has been talked before. I am looking to buy my 13 year old grandson a Glock 21 sf for his birthday. He is absolutely nuts about glocks and the 45 acp. Stopped in at my gun dealer and get informed that we can't shoot cast bullets in a glock. They couldn't give me a reason why. So,I called Glock and was given several reasons. One was lead buildup causing unsafe pressures. The other has something to do with the feed ramp.If you had a split case and missed it could cause the gun to blow up. I have several other 45's that I load for on my 550,no problems in thousands of rounds. What have you guys experienced? My grandson will be heartbroken if he doesn't get his Glock.I can't afford to buy factory ammo on a retired cops pension.

The factory Glock barrel has polygonal rifling, not the traditional square-cut rifling used by most American manufacturers. If you slug one of their barrels, they are dimensionally tighter than other brands. The shape of the rifling, combined with the bore tightness, provide improved accuracy with jacketed bullets. The downside is that they also cause lead to build up in the forcing cone, causing unsafe pressure increases in as few as 5-10 shots. HAving a non-structural plastic grip frame, if a case is blown out it often causes the frame to rip apart at the trigger, and sometimes peels the bottom of the chamber out.

You can load both conventional jacketed and the popular plated bullets in your factory Glock barrel. For lead ammo use, we sell Lone Wolf replacement barrels for $99.95. They use conventional rifling, allowing use of lead bullets in the Glock handguns. Lone Wolf barrels just drop in, no fitting needed.

Thanks a bunch! You made my grandson a happy camper.I will order one of those lone wolf barrels. I don't know what it is about the glocks but he is in love with them. If you are the owner I talked to you and asked a lot of questions about the reloaders before I bought the 550.I appreciate your patience. My machine has worked perfect from day one. If I have a question the tech people go above and beyond to answer them. Keep up the good work.

Slide,

Little late answering but wanted to let you know I use an after market barrel for Glocks from Wolf. This works fine and that is all I shoot for practice in my Glock 30. I load the 230 grain fmj when using the Glock barrel.

I have a Lone Wolf barrel in my G21 but my G41 is stock Glock and I use plated bullets in both and have had no problems with either. I also shoot plated bullets in my G17 9mm with great results. Bullets are X-treme 200gr FP for the .45 and 115gr HPCB (heavy plate concave base) which are really good in the 9mm.
