CCI Primers

CCI primers are a 'harder' , less ssensitive primer than other brands. However, if they go off on a subsequent strike, this implies the primers are not being fully seated into the pocket. The first firing pin strike is finishing seating the primer, then the subsequent strike ignites it. Be sure the primers are sseated slightly below flush. If your firearm has had an action job, it may be necessary to change to a more sensitive primer, such as Federal or Winchester.

Happens to me occasionally, and I usually use CCI. My wife's weapon of choice is a .40 Sig, and that's the only one I have a problem with (perhaps 2-3 per 500). I shoot revolvers, (Ruger, US Firearms and SW) and don't recall any similar problems in the last 20 years or so.
