CCI primers stick in primer magazine
Quote from Reloader on June 24, 2008, 5:32 pmI've been using a friend's XL650 to load .45 ACP. Win LP primers work fine but for some reason CCI LP primers routinely stick in the primer magazine causing rounds to be loaded w/o primers creating a big mess. [The low primer alarm doesn't sound since the plastic rod doesn't drop]. One of the problems I see using the XL650 is you can't see the primers when reloading.
I haven't had any problems using CCI LP primers in my RL550. Why do CCI primer stick and Win LP primers work OK in the XL650 ?

Quote from Reloader on June 24, 2008, 6:05 pmDepending on the age of the CCI primers, in the past they have had slightly greater dimensional fluctuations than some other brands. It is not uncommon to have the occasional primer of any brand be sufficiently out of round, or have a high anvil, causing it to stick in the magazine tube. Spray wd-40 into the magazine tube, bend it and throw it away. Then phone us for a warranty replacement.

Quote from Reloader on December 27, 2016, 5:49 amI have had this issue with both large and small CCI primers that are new stock. I called Dillon and they blamed the primers and told me to try Remington. I purchased a lot off cci's so that's not a choice. There was no mention of replacement tubes. In addition I found one of the retaining tabs in my powder measure on a brand new machine. I mentioned this and was told it would be brought to managements attention. I never heard back. I placed a second order for a small pistol setup and I was sent the wrong case feed plate. I had to insist that the customer service person ship the replacement priority mail since their standard service was slow. He did but after a considerable amount of insistance on my part. When I ordered the 650 the man was very nice but my last two calls were not handled well. I expected more from Dillon especially when they messed up. I gravitate towards companys that appreciate my business. That's not the feeling I was left with.
