CFE Pistol Powder

Talking to a friend about powders and we got on the topic of CFE Pistol. Most everything we can find on it are excellent. However, he has another friend that says the powder doesn't meter very well in the Dillon powder measure. Has anyone tried this powder yet? I picked up a couple pounds to try.

Sorry, we don't have any experience with it.  Anybody out there have any luck??

I use it all the time, I've run probably 12 pounds of it through my 650, I have not had any problem with metering.

Thanks for the info. Was hoping it wasn't true.

There had to be something else as the cause, I find CFE Pistol, Autocomp, W231 and HP38 to meter equally well. They're all ball powders and in any of my random checks the biggest variation I've found is 0.1gr. I load around 1200 rounds a week.

Will post my result next week.  I have a couple of pounds and have used with no trouble in my Lee SS press.  Will be trying in my XL650 this w/e

I have loaded around 1200 9mm with CFE Pistol and it metered fine for me. I recently purchased a digital scale and wanted to check the consistency of the powder measure on my XL650. It was set up to drop 5.2 grains of CFE Pistol. I measured around 10 drops and only one was off by 0.1 grains.

Finally got everything setup. Having no issues with metering. Have set to drop 6.9gr and am within .1gr in 10 drops. Loaded 25 rounds of 200gr 45acp and rechecked. Still holding steady at 6.9 +/- .1.

I have run just over 1200 rounds of .45 ACP on my XL650 using CFE with absolutely no problem. I've shot all of them with no issues. All have performed flawlessly.

I've used both Rifle and pistol and I prefer it to most powders. Especially if you're loading for .223.
