Chances of powder measure NOT throwing powder?

Hi there, what's the chances of a Dillon powder measure not throwing powder. Till now, it has been flawless when loading on my RL550. Is eye balling each case really necessary?

I've never experienced (or heard of) a charge not being thrown -- I suppose in theory it's possible if metering a stick powder and the powder bridges the bottom of the funnel.

In any event, even if you have total confidence in your powder measure's reliability, the potential consequences of a no-powder load (a squib that lodges a bullet in the barrel -- easy to not notice or respond to before pulling the trigger again -- followed by firing the next cartridge into the stuck bullet and blowing up the gun) are too severe to *not* either eyeball each charge or use a positive powder lever check device, like Dillon's powder checker or a lock-out die (RCBS? can't remember).

This works for me:
When starting a reloading session I throw the first powder charge and put it back in the hopper.

Somewhere along the line I'll have to pull a cartridge or two due to my lack of skill. I check those cartridges for powder

When I finish I check the last one.

As I stated this works for me and I bought my first SDB when it was a SD and cost $129.95
