Creases in case after seating
Quote from Reloader on January 18, 2011, 11:46 pmHi I am loading 50 AE on the 550B.I am using new brass & speer 300gr bullits with IMR 4227 powder.
Upon seating of the bullit very often I am getting creases on one side of the finished product, sometimes a full ring.
I am trying to keep the bullit as straight as possible as well as making the bell a little larger for an easer fit of the bullit.
Any ideas ?

Quote from Reloader on January 19, 2011, 2:17 pmIf you are seeing where the bullet stops in the case, this is normal. THe case is sized to be smaller than the bullet diameter to have a press fit, securing the bullet in place. Ideally you should see this all the way around the case. It helps if you tighten all of the die lock rings, including the powder measure, with a case in the die, activating the powder measure, and a fired piece of brass in station one. This ensures consistant upward pressure on the toolhead, and centers the die in the toolhead. Then when you snug the die lock ring the die stays straight.
