Customer Service
Quote from Reloader on March 13, 2013, 9:14 pmI have a Dillon CV-500 Vibratory Cleaner that I bought new in 1997 (date on unit is 02/1997). The motor went out this morning, but the unit overall is in excellent condition. I called Dillon and was transferred to Customer Service. After staying on hold and listening to a ridiculous recording for twenty-six (26) minutes, I finally hung up. Well, I immediately called back and when the young lady answered, I simply asked if there was actually a person in Customer Service. She assured me there was and said the phones were quite busy; that there were 30-calls waiting. I told her I'd just call another time.
I just had a question: Since I was told that my unit had a "lifetime warranty" when it was purchased, would it be honored and could I get a new motor? After reading several forums, it appears that there are no "new" motors for the CV-500 and that Dillon does not "honor" their warranty, which I believe is somewhat illegal or to say the least....unethical.
But since I do Cowboy Action Shooting and go through 200-400 rounds per week, I have to have a cleaner. So instead of waiting on "Customer Service", I went ahead a purchased a CV-750. But I still want my question answered and see if Dillon actually has Customer Service in mind.

& it appears you think so too

Quote from Reloader on March 22, 2013, 1:33 pmYeah deadwood, wish that were the case...hahahahah! When I bought it in 1997, it was used for about 1-year before I had to stop shooting for awhile. It stayed in storage until the end of 2012 when I started up again. All in all, I got about 1-1/2 years out of it. While I may shoot 200-400 rounds a week, I usually don't clean cases but about once a month or two. So that translates to about 6-8 times a year. I could be wrong, but I would hope they would last longer than that. Regardless, I went ahead and ordered the 750. If they fix the 500, I'll just have two: one for my 45lc and one for my 38's.
