D-Terminator digital scale buttons not working

Just got a brand new D-Terminator digital scale in yesterday afternoon. It will turn on and calibrate but there is no response to the mode or zero buttons. It doesn't appear to have a film over the display or have I missed something or is it just DOA? Same behavior on both batteries and with the A/C adapter.

Just got mine in. Same issues. The only button that works properly, it seems, is the on/off. Lovely.

Any idea who the manufacturer is ?

I was thinking about adding one of these but am going to hold off a while.

Manufacturer is CED.

Just got off the phone with Dillon Support and they are going to send out a new replacement and an RMA tag and shipping label for the bad one. Props to Dillon for standing behind it and not making me jump through any hoops.

Stuff happens, be it electronics, cars, or guns. How its handled by the vendor/manufacturer is what counts and Dillon is standing behind it.

I wanted to go with the Dillon scale over others as I've used a friend's Dillon scale, albeit the previous (2007) generation. I have a Pact digital scale (also rebranded in green as RCBS) and while it's a nice enough unit it's highly susceptible to VHF/UHF interference. I'm involved in amateur radio and have a UHF repeater at my location and it causes the Pact scale to make all kinds of crazy readings to the point where I simply can not use it if the repeater is active--of which it can be quite busy at times. The Dillon scale was not susceptible to the same RF. In testing with the current generation Dillon scale it only responded to the UHF RF when I was holding a handheld radio in transmit within inches of it. Even then it didn't cause the readings to go off but instead triggered it into calibration mode. But I truly had to have it within a couple inches. Just having it a couple feet away had no discernible effect.

If you are on the fence about the Dillon digital scale, I'd say go for it. If it's DOA when you get it, Dillon will stand behind it and make replacement about as easy as possible. Furthermore, if you take a look at page 7 of the scale's manual (https://dilloncdn.com/manuals/dillon-dterminator-manual-2017-english.pdf) right in the center of the page it clearly states: "For REFUNDS within 30 days of purchase, return the scale to: Dillon Precision Products, Inc..." So in black and white it appears that even if you simply don't like the scale, send it back and they will refund you the money for it.

If you are on the fence. DO NOT DO IT. Find another. I called them. Waited an hour on phone (not an issue, I know they are probably busier than normal). Customer service seems great. Shipped me a new one out and a return label to send back old one. I just got it in today. Another lemon. I am sending both back. I am not going to find out if third time is a charm. FYI - I am just getting into reloading and gathering all the bits and pieces I need. So, I am new to reloading...but, definitely not new to electronics. The "buttons" do not seem to work properly. This one is a little better, it changes mode some of the time...if I am lucky. They are not clicky buttons, so I tried a long hold, a tap, a two tap, cover the area with multiple fingers, light press, firm press, tap to side. It may way properly when you finally get it set on grains...but getting it there is hit or miss. I do not want a piece of gear that may work, especially when I pay a little more for it. Made in China. Not sure if people may have been sick when making this batch. (joke)

And another FYI, so you know I am not bashing DIllon. I am bashing that scale. When I get further into reloading, I will be buying a blue press. Everyone take care.

Same thing here... only the On/OFF button works... they are shipping another... Dillon obviously knows they have a bad batch of these by now. Hoping the replacement works.
