Deprime Catch Bin
Quote from Reloader on August 5, 2014, 11:43 pmHas anyone had issues with the deprimed primers going everywhere except the catch bin designed for them? About 50% of the time the old primers go everywhere. It just started and is getting progressively worse. Is there an adjustment I need to make?

Quote from Reloader on August 6, 2014, 3:39 pmMake sure the spent primer cup is pushed completely back on the mounting rails, so it is under the angled hole spent primers eject through. Not much else.

Quote from Reloader on August 8, 2014, 12:36 pmyeah I have the same issue even when it's as far back as it goes they still jump out. not a huge deal but kinda annoying. I haven't done it yet but there are plenty of youtube videos out there to rig up some plastic tubing to where the primers eject and cut a hole in the cap of a plastic pop bottle connect the tube to it and then put the pop bottle on there that way when it gets full you just put another cap on the full one and dispose of it properly then slap a new bottle on the cap thats attatched to the machine by the plastic tube.

Quote from Reloader on August 12, 2014, 5:22 pmMost commonly, the primers simply bounces out of the cup. Place some tape on the shallow shelf near the top of the primer cup. The softer surface will make the primers bounce less and go in the cup properly.

Quote from Reloader on September 9, 2014, 3:56 amNew to the 650XL, but I've seen the problem. Several ways to resolve/reduce. Cheapest is to take a bit of electrical tape and run around the rear half of the top of the bin closing up the gap between the top of the bin and the bottom of the bracket. Second is to buy the after market kit that runs a hose into a container. The third is to make one yourself. 95cents. Obtain a 45 Colt case. Drill out base as large as you can. Get a couple of feet of 1/2" ID clear tubing. Found at Orange box store for 45 cents a foot. Depending on the hose, you may have to clamp to the case, or you can dip end in boiling water for a minute or so to soften and it will shrink to the case. Take off the bracket that holds the bin and slide the 45 case onto the slot And replace the bracket. drop the other end of the tube into a container and catch all the spent primers you can process.
